Plagiarism Policy

Al Mustaqim - Journal of Islamic Finance, Sustainability and Digital Innovation, published by Rasyidin Institute, is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity. Plagiarism in any form is unethical and unacceptable.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism occurs when an author presents the words, ideas, or work of others as their own without proper attribution. This includes:

  • Direct copying of text, images, or data from other sources without quotation marks and proper citation.

  • Paraphrasing substantial parts of another’s work without acknowledgment.

  • Reusing one’s own previously published work (self-plagiarism) without clear citation or permission where required.

  • Improper use of translated material without citation to the original source.

Screening for Plagiarism

All manuscripts submitted to [Journal Name] will be checked for plagiarism using reliable plagiarism detection software (such as Turnitin, iThenticate, or similar tools).

Plagiarism Threshold

  • Manuscripts with a similarity index higher than 20% (excluding references, properly quoted text, and standard phrases) may be returned to the author for revision or rejected outright.

  • Minor overlaps (e.g., standard methods) may be acceptable if properly cited.

Actions for Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected at any stage — before or after publication — the following actions will be taken:

  • Before Publication: The manuscript will be rejected immediately and the author(s) will be notified.

  • After Publication: The published article may be retracted, and a retraction notice will be issued. The author’s institution may be informed if deemed necessary.

Author Responsibility

Authors are fully responsible for the originality of their work and must ensure that:

  • All sources are properly cited.

  • Permission is obtained for copyrighted material when required.

  • A signed statement on originality is provided when submitting the manuscript.
