About the Journal

Tawadhu – Journal of Islamic Studies is an open-access, peer-reviewed scholarly journal committed to fostering critical and original scholarship in the broad discipline of Islamic Studies. Published twice a year in June and December, by Rasyidin Institute. The journal aspires to become a reputable academic forum for scholars, researchers, educators, and students who are interested in deepening and expanding the understanding of Islam and Muslim societies in both classical and contemporary contexts.

Scope and Focus
Tawadhu invites original research articles, theoretical papers, and reviews covering, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Qur’anic studies and exegesis (Tafsir)

  • Hadith studies and interpretation

  • Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) and legal theory (Usul al-Fiqh)

  • Islamic theology (Aqidah) and philosophy (Kalam)

  • Islamic education and pedagogy

  • Islamic history, civilization, and heritage

  • Contemporary Islamic thought and reform movements

  • Comparative religion and interfaith dialogue

Publication Details
Tawadhu – Journal of Islamic Studies publishes two issues per year in June and December. Submissions are accepted in English for wider reach. Every manuscript is subject to a rigorous double-blind peer review to ensure high academic standards and scholarly integrity.

Through this platform, we hope to contribute to the production and dissemination of impactful knowledge that promotes understanding, dialogue, and intellectual humility — true to the spirit of Tawadhu.
